Date: 2009-12-09
The “2009 China's Most Successful Design Awards ” are among the most authoritative design awards in China, a country which is fast becoming the leader in design innovation and design management. With the growth in recognition of the awards, now in their fourth year, more cutting edge designs have been submitted by companies wishing to increase awareness of their products and brands in Shanghai, China and across the world. The awards also seek to spread understanding among consumers of what constitutes good design, and the importance design plays in our everyday lives.

This year, the awards ceremony will be held during the 2009 Shanghai International Creative Industry Week, showcasing the achievements of designers and companies to the media, the public and potential business partners.

Cathy Huang, President China Bridge International - the founder and sponsor of the awards - said: “China's Most Successful Design Awards 2009 differ from other design awards in that they take account of the entire process behind the designs, from conception and design management through to the finished product. We wish to promote wider strategic thinking in how design can be more efficiently used by businesses to achieve their goals.”
China Bridge International works alongside the Shanghai International Creative Industry Week Organizing Committee, the Shanghai Industrial Design Association, the Shanghai Creative Industry Association and the Shanghai Creative Industry Center to organize the awards.

“This year’s awards have gained extensive attention worldwide, with more companies submitting entries than in any previous year,” Cathy continued. “Jurors have been impressed by the high standard of the entries, which include submissions from industry leaders such as ASUS, Kohler, Philips and China Telecom. It’s worth mentioning that several space designs have been recognized, which is an important breakthrough. Overall, it’s clear that more and more CEOs, managers and professionals are placing increasing emphasis on the role that good design plays in the success of their companies.”
